Central Loudoun Little League

Program Overview

Each Spring, Central Loudoun fields two Little League International (LLI) Tournament teams for each official LLI age bracket, as well as at the 9U level.  These teams are more commonly known as our "All Star" teams and they compete in their respective LLI Spring Tournaments which, for the 12U division, culminates in the Little League World Series seen on ESPN.

Joining a team is a sizable time commitment for the months of May and June, with practices five or six nights a week, potential travel to other local Little Leagues for scrimmage games, and the potentially week-long tournaments.  However, the experience is often cited as players’ favorite memory from their time in Little League and the friendships and bonds they form with their teammates last well beyond the tournament season.

Below is a rough outline of program dates based on the player age bracket; the exact dates vary year-to-year based on LLI, Virginia LL, and District 16 calendars.  If your child is interested in being considered for All Stars, sign up below to register their interest!

Player Eligibility & Selection

Player Eligibility

CLLL has two Charters with LLI (American League and National League) and thus is eligible to field and send two teams per age group to its LLI Tournament.  In order to be eligible for All Star selection, players must meet the following criteria for the year's Spring season:

  • Player must have participated in 8 games for the current Spring season

    • Senior division players must play in 6 games
    • "Postseason" games count towards this game total
    • Players who do not meet this criteria due to an injury may work with our Player Agents to receive a medical exemption
  • Player must be in good standing with the league (documents, dues, etc.)

Players who meet eligibility requirements may then express interest in the program via the website during the Spring Season to inform the Player Agents and All Star Managers.  Expressing interest does not guarantee selection; managers are given complete control of their rosters and are free to select from any eligible players within their chartered age group.  The manager's goal is to construct a complete, competitive team, so high on-field performance in a given Spring season is not the only selection criteria; intangibles, positional flexibility, and other factors will play a role.

Invite Acceptance & Commitment

Accepting an All Star roster invite means your child and your family agree and commit to:

  • Being available for all scheduled tournaments for the age group (beyond just District)

  • Being available for all team-related practices, activities, and events through the tournament season

  • Being available to volunteer for at least 3 slots during the CLLL-hosted District tournament (details here)

  • Paying the $250.00 All Star program fee (covering uniforms, gear, and tournament registration and operation fees)
