Single A (Primarily League Ages 7-9)
The Single A Division is the first “draft” level division and is primarily for League Age seven and eight year old players. Requests for teammates and managers are not accepted. It is an instructional division where players hit regulation little league balls pitched by a combination of a machine operated by the Manager as well as from pitcher players. Protective cups are required, outs are recorded with three ending each half inning, and only nine defensive positions are used (meaning extra players rotate sitting each inning). Players are taught the fundamentals of baseball such that they are exposed to playing positions and are taught throwing, catching, batting, defensive ready position and running the bases. Youth umpires may be used, scores are kept, and standings are recorded. A post-season tournament determines the overall league champion. Both teams playing in the championship game receive a trophy.
